Acell wins patent battle against Cook Biotech, Purdue

Acell Inc has won its appeal against the previous court decision giving victory to Cook Biotech Inc and Purdue Research Foundation concerning patent ownership. A three-judge panel of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which specializes in patent cases, unanimously reversed a July 2005 finding of patent infringement, holding instead that ACell’s product does not infringe Purdue’s patent.
