US researchers from several universities have made a nanostructured barium titanate-cobalt ferrite (BaTiO3-CoFe2O4) ferroelectromagnet with improved properties. The self-assembled multiferroic structure contains vertical CoFe2O4 nanopillars in a ferroelectric BaTiO3 matrix.
