Next-generation resins for large automotive thermoplastic body panels

A coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) 25% lower than previous grades is claimed for the latest conductive Noryl GTX PPO/polyamide resin from SABIC Innovative Plastics of Pittsfield, MA, USA. This makes the resin suitable for large automotive body panels by enabling higher-precision gap management while at the same time helping to reduce overall vehicle weight, according to the company.
