    Composite damage in civilian aircraft applications under study

    The damage caused to composite materials used in civilian aircraft applications is being studied using a technique called Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). A2 Technologies, based in Danbury, Connecticut, USA, has been awarded a three year research contract from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to study the effectiveness of the technique.
