    Tailor-made catalysts for fuel cells

    Titanium dioxide (TiO2) catalysts are widely used for producing hydrogen gas for fuel cells. TiO2 is a photoactive material, which converts sunlight into electronic charge, and then uses these charges to electrochemically spilt water into hydrogen and oxygen gas.
